For whatever reason I've decided to create a blog. To be honest, in the past I have created several other blogs which I very quickly lost interest in and stopped updated. I'm sure they're still floating around the internet somewhere, completely ignored by both me and the masses. Admittedly, the content I posted on them was boring and not easy to relate with, and more than likely so will the subsequent posts on here. However this time I will attempt to be more interesting.
At this point, I'm not off to a good start, but I have some research material under my belt for these sorts of things. I have a bit a plan. I have some references, some strategies. I've even got role models. It's a good setting for the starting line. We'll see what happens on the race track. If anyone stumbles upon this and stays interested long enough to have read this far, please cross your fingers for me and wish me luck. In the past I haven't had a good track record, nor have I been particularly consistent. I'll do my best, though I can't promise that there won't be the occasional (or even frequent) non sequitor. If nothing else there will be one constant: me. I can't promise content, but I can promise that every post will be filled with my passion, my heart, or my almost complete lack of decisiveness.
All posts will be genuinely me. I suppose if you don't know me that doesn't really mean much to you. But if you would please,

The internet these days allows ultimate anonymity. Anyone can be anyone. It's so very easy to jump on to any one of literally thousands of websites and become what you've always wanted to become; to be perceived in the way you've always wanted to be acknowledged. Simply come up with a personality you wish to take over and everyone will treat you as though this is who you truly are. On that note, it's always a good idea to card anyone you met online.
The point is I promise to be me. I won't be fake. I won't fabricate a personality, or stories to catch your attention. I'm not going to lie to you or lead you on. I'll be honest. Real. I just hope you'll accept that.
I'm sure I'll have view points and opinions that you won't share, but for the most part I'm agreeable. I'm sure we'll get along great. After all, we're running the race together and while we all want to win, we should still treat each other with respect and share the track.
~Daz (Okay that's not my real name, but it is the name by which lots of people know me. I like it.)
The question in my mind is where do all the other blogs reside in cyberspace? Not their address, but imagine all the servers out there hosting and storing all of this information. You mentioned "other blogs" that you no longer update. They are still out there, inhabiting who-knows-how-much drive space.
ReplyDeleteNot that you should delete the old content - not at all. I'm not paying for it, so I say "fill 'er up!"
You bring up a great point. I've always wondered that myself. There is an endless amount of information out there that is not being utilized by anyone. It sits there, having been abandoned ages ago, collecting cyber dust. I know certain hosts will delete content if it remains inactive for a certain period of time. For the sake of their servers I hope they've deleted my crap.
